Many people have already responded to the immediate crisis by giving of their time and substance. As Catholic Charities suggests, the most significant impact of this disaster will not be felt for weeks and months to come. Financial support will continue to be needed in support of longer-term needs as they are assessed. Among the Christian channels for giving are the following:
Catholic Charities USA
The National Service Center is coordinating the Catholic Church's response through its national disaster fund Catholic Charities agencies have launched an initial response and are assessing what programs will be needed in the weeks and months ahead Catholic Charities agencies have been in the community addressing human need long before this tragedy and will be there long after. Our primary, immediate need is financial support to assist our agencies with these mid- and long-term efforts.
